Mission Circle Christmas Outreach

During the Season of Advent, St. James Mission Circle will collect donations to help ensure a
happy Christmas for Ukrainian refugee families living in San Diego. We are partnering with
Slavic Refugee and Immigrant Service Organization (SRISO) and other local groups to sponsor a
Christmas party on Thursday, December 21st at Del Mar Powerhouse Park. Mission Circle will
provide gifts for 200 children, gift cards for 200 adults, and 50 gifts for infants and toddlers.

If you would like to donate, here is what is requested:

  • Take an envelope/notecard from the decorated tree in the vestibule of the church on the weekends of Dec 2-3 and Dec 9-10.
  • Purchase the designated gift for the child/toddler/infant whose name is on the envelope AND/OR
  • Provide a $50 gift card to Target or Walmart for an adult.
  • Write a personal Christmas greeting to the recipient on the notecard and insert it in the envelope.
  • Wrap your gift and affix the envelope to the outside of the gift.
  • Place your gift in the donation container next to the tree in the church OR drop it off to the parish office by Sunday, December 17.

Krystsina from SRISO will be available after the morning Masses on Dec 3 to answer questions
about the organization. For more information, link to www.slavics.org.

There are a very limited number of volunteer slots to assist with the party. Please contact Julie
Bishop, jlcbish@gmail.com, or Katie Hodsdon, katekellyhodsdon@gmail.com if you are
interested in helping out on Dec 21.
