Food Distribution UPDATE

May 13, 2020

We are on our 6th week distributing food at St. Leo Mission. We are serving families of these zip code areas: 92007, 92014, 92023, 92024, 92067, 92075, 92091, 92130.

Food distribution continues Tuesday through Friday from 6pm to 8pm, with a drive-thru system and check-in for participants. We still have the home delivery program, for participants with no car, or who cannot leave their homes.

Catholic Charities menu for this week is: 1 pound of spaghetti pasta, 1 can of spaghetti sauce, 1 can of apple sauce, 1 can of peaches, 1 can of garbanzo beans, 1 can of vegetables soup, 1 can of cream of mushrooms, 1 can of salmon and 1 pound of nut mix.

In a separate box we give parish and local donations: 2 pounds of rice, 2 pounds of dried pinto beans, 1 pound of pasta, 1 bottle of cooking oil. This week we are also giving 1 gallon of milk, 1 carton of eggs, 5 red potatoes, 3 jumbo carrots, 5 jalapeño peppers, 3 tomatoes, 3 bananas, 3 oranges, 3 apples, and other kinds of food that donors bring.

This is possible thanks to the generosity of all donors. Participants are very grateful.

If you would like to offer food donations, what is needed now:
eggs, milk, fresh vegetables and fruits.

You may drop off at the drive-thru Tuesday through Friday 6-8pm, cash and checks (made out to St. James-St. Leo Catholic Community) are also appreciated and can be mailed to St. James-St. Leo Catholic Community, 625 S. Nardo Ave., Solana Beach, CA 92075. Please write “Food Distribution Program” on the memo line of your check.

If you have questions, please contact the coordinator Jannet Diaz at jdiaz@stjames-stleo.com.

Thank you for your generosity! Every bag or box of food you donate will provide families with food to put on their table…”For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you made me welcome” Matthew 25:35
