A Note from the Pastor – Nov 14

Where is the good news about God and humanity amid this gospel of catastrophes, flashing swords, and falling planets? If we listen closely, we’ll find that each image of the end sparks hope.

In Luke 21:9, it says not to be terrified by wars and revolutions, as they are not the end. Verses 16-17 speak of imprisonment, betrayal, and hatred, but assure that your life will be preserved. Verses 25-28 mention signs in the cosmos and fear on earth yet encourage you to lift your heads because liberation is near.

Beyond deceitful prophets, beyond wars and betrayals, even when hatred spreads everywhere, here is that poignant expression: Not even a hair on your head will be lost; doubled in Matthew 10:30: the hairs of your head are all counted, do not be afraid.

Nothing is eternal; There will come a time when not one stone will remain of what you see. Though buildings may crumble, you will be safe in God’s hand. Humanity will endure, with every detail cherished, because God cares deeply for His beloved. As disciples, we are called to stand tall, eyes bright. Reality is more than what we see—our Liberator is coming, an expert in life.

Many points of reference will keep fading away in the world, but there will also be signs of spring. This world carries another world in its womb. Every day, a world dies, but every day, a world is also born; let your old world go and travel light; God is in control.
