“Love one another,” Jesus tells his disciples. No, Jesus commands his disciples. This is how everyone will know that they are his disciples. As we gather, we ask ourselves if we can be recognized by our love. Do we show the love we have for one another in what we do and say? Do we love one another as much as Jesus loves us? May the God of love bless us in the challenge to love each other.
Sunday, May 15th, is International Day of Families (link). The Church will celebrate it June 22-26 this year. We will bless the Lord in His Creation on the World Day of cultural Diversity (link). Please visit the diocesan website and particularly the event for Pentecost! Armed Forces Day is celebrated on the third Saturday in May, and it is the day Americans celebrate their military.
As a follow-up to my homily last weekend, with the question, did you spot a young man whom you would pray daily to the Holy Spirit to create in Him the desire to become a priest? We welcome Fr. Azam Vianney, CJM, as a priest in residence with us. He is the youngest among us!
