“Lord, will only a few be saved?” This question resonates with those who feel lost. In today’s parable, Jesus tells a story about a door, a celebration, and a crowd eager to enter.
This house is a vibrant crossroads of adventures that define our Christian journey. We celebrate together with just a bit of bread, a touch of affection, and a space where we belong. Life may be harsh, but Jesus offers us shelter.
When the master of the house closes the door, those left outside will knock and say, “Lord, open to us. We ate and drank with you, and you taught in our squares.” But he will reply, “I do not know you,” because mere acquaintance is not enough for a true relationship.
In our spiritual lives, we might say, “Lord, we have always attended church, prayed, listened, confessed, and received communion. Why won’t you open the door for us?”
The issue is that people may list many actions done for God, yet none may be for others. These acts are religious but do not engage with the living members of Christ’s body.
If you have received the true bread, how have you revealed Jesus to others? We must become that true bread to be recognized as disciples who extend His life.
True love inspires selflessness, manifesting in even the smallest gestures, like offering a glass of water. Jesus elevates the call: I send you in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
