We heard Matthew’s Gospel on Ash Wednesday–an invitation to Lenten traditional practices: prayer, fasting, and almsgiving.
As we do every year, the parish invites us to deepen our prayer life and particularly using the booklets available at the back of the church and discover and pray the Stations of the Cross alone or with a group.
Every Lent we bring our ‘’rice bowls’’ home and share in order that more people be kept alive.
Our parish gives locally, to Mexico (TJ) and to Africa.
In Africa we help Fr. Edward Siani in Cameroon; we support Frances and Walter Birchall’s missionary work in Kenya, and I asked the school students and families to help The Eudist mission in Nairobi for the boys in the streets. I will reprint information for this work on our website. At the same time we will carry on our prayers for the Eastern African Countries invaded by swarms of locusts. We want to protect life! Please browse our parish website. Let us be grateful that we have a God like our God!
