Fr. Gerard Lecomte, CJM
I am glad to be back with you!
On Monday we celebrate the Solemnity of All Saints (not a holy day of obligation this year), where we recognize those many men and women who we believe have gained eternal reward and are forever in the presence of God. Today we hear Jesus tell a scribe, “You are not far from the kingdom of God,” suggesting that this anonymous official was close to sainthood. To be a saint should be our goal, so we listen to the Gospel and pray that we take Jesus’ words to heart and put them into action. At Monday morning Mass, we will celebrate with our school children personalizing a few saints of their choice. What a wonderful way to rest in prayer after Halloween! Tuesday we will have a regular St. James Mass schedule for All Souls’ Day. We are invited to St. Leo for a 7pm Spanish Mass to pray for our dead. Tuesday in the afternoon our fourth graders will have a pilgrimage to St. Leo. Parents are invited as well!
